San Agustín can be reached by road by taking the turn off from the main north-south motorway, the GC-1 and then following the GC-500 dual carriageway. It is around 25 minutes by road from the island's main airport.
Within reasonable distance of windsurfing hotspot Bahia Feliz is the older and much more established, and some say more upmarket, San Agustín. A Gran Canaria resort with character, San Agustín has all the amenities you'd expect from a good resort base including a large choice of accommodation, various commercial centres offering numerous shops, restaurants and bars. Fans of casinos will be in their element - there are two casinos no less in San Agustín.
San Agustín was the first resort to be established on Gran Canaria in the 1970s, even before Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. There three main beach areas; dark and sandy and a promenade run their length.
San Agustín is renowned for its luxury accommodation, including large luxury hotels with in-house casinos.
Not too far from the resort you will find the long established Wild West themed park, Sioux City. Up the valley from neighbouring Playa del Inglés are Palmitos Park and the Aqualand Water Park (the largest in the Canary Islands). Also fairly close is the Mundo Aborigen experience which aims to inform the visitor about the Guanches, the original inhabitants of the Canary Islands
