Maspalomas / Bellavista is situated on the eastern side of the island. It is a very turistic village and close to this plot will be build the new waterpark which attracts many tourist all year round.
Only 5 mins by car you can drive down to the famous Playa del Ingles beach and surfing and water sports are nearby too.
Village of Maspalomas / Bellavista is half hour drive to the Airport or the busy resorts of Puerto Rico or Puerto de Mogán.
Maspalomas - Campo Internacional - Campo de Golf
Here you will find a land strip with 17 km of wonderful coastline with sand dunes, wide, sandy beaches, shallow waters and an excellent all year-round climate. This is a paradise for beach lovers and family holidays.
The upmarket Maspalomas resort, with smart hotels, luxury residences and the largest golf course on the island, is separated from Playa del Inglés by a spectacular stretch of dunes, which have been declared natural protected area, allowing only the crossing on foot and on camels. These dunes provide a habitat for several rare plant species, some of which are only to be found in the Canaries, having managed to survive in this arid environment.
Just down the hill from the larger resort of Playa del Inglés is the quieter option of Maspalomas. Separated from the sea by the spectacular dunes, the low-level accommodation set amongst quiet streets and around the golf course makes for a relaxing holiday.
The most striking feature of Maspalomas is the Dunes Natural Reserve which is a natural barrier between most of the resort and the ocean. From certain angles you can imagine that you are in the middle of the Sahara.
Probably the best and most accessible view of the Dunes is to be had by walking to the end of Avenida de Tirajana in Playa del Inglés and passing under the arch of the Riu Palace Hotel. At the end of the road you will find a viewing platform where boards are on display providing information about the area and its wildlife. The Dunes eventually give way to a large area of scrubland interspersed with palm trees and low shrubs. For those liable to be offended, be aware that this is normally a favored destination for those who enjoy sex outdoors.
At the far end of the Dunes area, you will find a large freshwater lagoon, La Charca, which is also protected due to the numbers and variety of wildlife it attracts.
There is no promenade as such on the beach due to the dunes, so you will have to contemplate a long walk to get to the ocean or take the easy way out and get a taxi.
Most of the accommodation in the resort consists of self-catering bungalow or low-level apartment complexes set in their own grounds with swimming pools. If your preference is for a higher level of service and more luxury, there is also big villas for sale in the Maspalomas Golf area or you will have to consider neighboring Meloneras or Playa del Inglés.
